Minister of Entrepreneurship and Crafts, Mr Gordan Maras and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds, Mr Branko Grčić have presented on December 30th2014, the first open call for applications for grants under the Operational Program “Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014 – 2020” intended for small and medium businesses. Total financial amount available is nearly 1.2 billion HRK, and the funds can be used for construction of production capacity and/or investment in the equipment. The amount for grant per project can be in the range of 0.5 to 15 million HRK. The presentation (in Croatian) from the press conference can be downloaded HERE
Announcement of the public call has been planned in the first quarter of 2015. The draft of the Guidelines for Applicants is published on the website of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts, and available for download with mandatory registration on this link. After the registration, all interested parties could participate in the public hearing which is open from December 30th2014 to January 20th 2015.
With almost 150 million EUR allocated for the manufacturing, during the next year entrepreneurs can also expect about 350 million EUR in grants for tourism, entrepreneurial infrastructure, business automation and improvements in quality. Grants will be awarded in order to raise competitiveness by means of investments in new and existing production capacities, investments in modern production equipment, technology and new products, diversification and expansion of business activities. All of that should ultimately enable the development of products and services, increase of the productivity and increase of the number of employees, as well as preservation of existing jobs.
